Amazing and Modern Singapore...

The tour was described as “the very best of Singapore,” and the tour didn’t disappoint.  The city is beautiful, and here are just a few of the places I saw during this extensive tour.
Here are a few of my photos that I hope demonstrate a little of the sheer beauty of this modern city.

A view of the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest in the Gardens by the Bay.  I took this from the Sands Skypark Observation Deck.

Another view from the Skypark Observation Deck that shows the sports facilities  That's a floating playing field with the stadium.

Here's the swimming pool which is on the 58th Floor of the Marina Bay Sands (three towers with this deck on top),

I am on the observation deck with the skyline of the business center in the background.

This is part of the Gardens by the Bay complex.  There are two domed buildings:  Flower Dome & the Cloud Forest.

Inside the Flower Dome.

The Flower Dome opened last year at great expense.  It's so cool with maintaining a Mediterranean climate.

Trees of every variety are contained in the Flower Dome.

People of Chinese descent make up about 75% of the population.  They are celebrating the Chinese New Year which is the year of sheep/goat.

A view of the walkways in the Cloud Forest:  You have three levels:  plant level, treetop level, and cloud level to observe the plantings and trees.

I am at the Raffles Long Bar waiting on my Singapore Sling (a drink that originated at this hotel).

The exterior of the Raffles Hotel.  It's an enormous hotel, restaurant, and shopping complex.

The "merlion" is the symbol of Singapore.  It's on the Singapore River.

This is the Marina Bay Sands complex.  That "boat" on top houses the pool and observation deck.  I think it kind of looks like a surfboard more than a boat.

We went to the City Gallery which is devoted to the planned development of Singapore.
