Better safe than sorry

Security measures on the ship increased as we left Sri Lanka.  That’s especially true as we make our way into the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden, and Red Sea.  These seas can be a little more treacherous with pirates and the like.   Cruisers are not privy to these safety and security measures, but there’s a new item on the walking deck today: Eight fire hoses are now positioned on the walking deck (Did you see Captain Phillips and how these were used to thwart boarding of the ship?).  It is my understanding that many other measures are also used as we sail and finally reach the Mediterranean.

Eight of these can now be found on the Promenade Deck of the ship.

Security increases on ships sailing in the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden, and the Red Sea (Suez Canal).
