The first day at sea has been so foggy. The ship started blowing its foghorn in the middle of the night. The blow of the foghorn continued until around noon. The fog isn’t as thick this afternoon.
I attended a lecture about our ports of call. It was a general lecture about the trip tour first port of call to Sydney. The location lecturer had some great photos, and he’ll give detailed lectures as we move along to each port.
I spent the afternoon at the movies. I think it’s interesting they seem to have ship themed movies (they showed “Captain Phillips” as we sailed in the pirate areas off the coast of Africa on the World Cruise).
Today’s feature was “Adrift” about a young couple sailing from Tahiti to San Diego. They were caught up in a storm and then spend 41 days adrift until the rescue near Hawaii. It was a great movie, but a bit sad. The movie is based on a true story.

What better way than to spend a foggy day at sea than watching a movie about being adrift at sea for 41 days! |
