ABC's of Sydney, Day 2: Aborigines, Blue (Mountains), and Crocodiles

I spent the day learning about Aborigines (no good photos due to lighting, but plenty of video), traveling to the Blue Mountains, and learning about crocodiles and other animals on an excursion outside the city of Sydney.

The excursion ended with a lunch in a beautiful hotel/conference center.  The view of the Blue Mountains was gorgeous.

This koala was more interested in napping than posing for the guests of the wildlife refuge.

Note the little joey sticking his head out of the pouch to nibble on the branches.

These are the little blue penguins native to Australia.

It was feeding time for the crocodile, and I have a great video of him being fed rabbit for his daily meal.

This black beaked stork was not camera shy.

All of the dingos had settled down for an afternoon nap.

Here are the Blue Mountains (a blue haze like the Blue Ridge) from the Queen Elizabeth II viewing point.

There's a legend of an aboriginal chief having his daughters turned to stone to avoid the devil who  fancied the girls.

The weather was perfect to observe this area similar to the Grand Canyon (but in a temperate rain forest with lots of eucalyptus trees).

My evidence that I actually visited the Blue Mountains of this Australia state.

The lighting of the performance of aboriginal heritage wasn't conducive to photography, but here's one of the exhibits.
