A very busy sea day…

The Cruise Director introduces (L to R) the Expedition Team Leader (from Australia), the Captain (from the Netherlands), and the Ice Pilot (USA, retired Coast Guard)
Today was a very busy sea day.  We’ve had several lectures (Falkland Islands and Montevideo, Uruguay); a Q&A with the Captain Jeroen Schuchmann, Ice Pilot Jeff Garrett, and the Antarctica Expedition Team Leader Lou Sanson to summarize events in Antarctica; and the Filipino Crew Show that celebrated their Philippine heritage.

Tonight will be a big Super Bowl Event in the Showroom at Sea.  The time difference from back home is two hours so it will be two hours later than the time back home.  So, the big event starts at 8PM.
Tomorrow we’ll be in the Falkland Islands.  My excursion to see Rockhopper Penguins was cancelled since they’ve moved to a beach that is mined (from the Falkland wars in the 1980s).  However, I’m taking a walking tour of the capital city (Stanley).

You better watch where you step in the Falkland Islands.  There are active landmines that were planted by the Argentinians during the war with the United Kingdom in the 1980s.

The folks just love giving us certificates! :-)  Hey, I was just along for the ride!
