Bon voyage Rio!

A last look at the museum in the port area.

I made my way to the Observation area on Deck 13 for the departure from Rio de Janeiro.

One final photo of Christ the Redeemer before our sailing away from the port.

I noticed some workers on top of the museum.  Cleaning windows?  On closer examination I noticed the roof is made up of strips of solar cells.

The pilot arrives on the port side for the departure.

The pilot is on board and on the navigation level.  The captain (hat and sunglasses), the pilot, and two junior officers are observing.  The female junior officer is at the controls and takes the ship out of the port.

A slum or flavela comes into view as we move out of the port.

As we move, I get a photo of a helicopter that has folks observing the Corcovado.

The ship pulls into the channel.

A final view of the downtown.

Well, one more look at the iconic statue that represents Rio de Janeiro.

And a final glimpse of the unique islands in the bays surrounding Rio.
