Sailing away from the Falkland Islands...

The ship was a little delayed sailing away from the Falkland Islands.  A passenger was receiving some medical treatment and they delayed leaving.  Also, when the anchors were pulled up, one anchor was wrapped in a wire they had to remove.

It gave me time to observe the penguin beach parties that were going on.  On two different beaches (and I believe two different specifies of penguins), the penguins were having a nice afternoon in the sunshine.

The sunshine was abundant was the ship pulled up anchor today.

As the ship sailed by the beaches, the penguins seemed to be having a beach party.

Stanley has a beautiful lighthouse at the entry to the harbor.

The ship passes by the airport which sits above the beach and sand dunes.

Another photo of the lighthouse as the ship proceeds to the Atlantic Ocean.

I believe that two different species of penguins were on the two beaches we passed during the sail away.

Penguins can be pretty tall and heavy.

I've seen Chinstrap, Gentoo, and Magellanic penguins.  I hate I didn't get to see the Rockhoppers.
Leaving Stanley for a 2-day sail to Montevideo, Uruguay.  The weather will get much warmer as the ship moves north.

The planned route for the next half of the trip around South America.
