There are no excursions today, but we're spending time in the small Amazon village of Boca da Valeria. The children and adults will be our tour guides for the day. For a few dollars, we can take pictures and have a tour. I'm looking forward to a canoe ride to see the giant water lilies that grow in the Amazon.
Here are a few of my photos from our arrival this morning.

The ship drops anchor in the Amazon, but there are several tributaries and villages nearby. |

The first tender goes ashore with security and other folks responsible for the day in Boca da Valeria, Brazil. |
It's the rainy season, but it's a beautiful day. The rivers are high and exceeding their normal banks. |
One of the houses of the village comes into view on the ship's port (left) side. |
Many of the trees are submerged in the waters of the river. |
Boca da Valeria is a small village, and it has electricity. There's a school and church. |

You can see the second tender boat arriving. The ship's advance folks are on the pier. |
